COVID-19 Updates Archive

Coronavirus Update: Tuesday 17th March 2020

Dear Parents and Carers

As part of the school’s Covid-19 risk assessment, and following a meeting with the school leadership team last night, I am writing to confirm some changes between now and the end of term.

  • All after school clubs are cancelled from today
  • Unfortunately all volunteers are asked to stay away from the school until further notice.
  • Helsinki class assembly will still go ahead this Friday.  Sadly parents are unable to attend. All other class assemblies are postponed until further notice.
  • Other educational visitors to the school have been cancelled.

There has been updated guidance for education and childcare settings and guidance for households.  Please see links below:

Guidance to Educational Settings - Covid-19 - www.gov.uk

New guidance for households with possible covid-19 infection - www.gov.uk

The new guidance will set out that individuals will still be asked to self-isolate for 7 days from the onset of COVID-19 symptoms but any individuals in the household will now be asked to self-isolate for 14 days from that moment as well.

If other members of your household develop symptoms, however mild, at any time during the 14 days, they must not leave the home for 7 days from when symptoms started.  If this applies to anyone in your family - Please do not send your child/children into school.

I would also like to reassure you that we are taking every precaution to ensure the school is thoroughly cleaned at the end of each day, as usual, and that all children are encouraged to wash their hands on a regular basis.

The safety of all the children in our care, as well as staff is paramount and as the situation changes we will contact you. Today, we will be sharing this presentation with our children to help them understand the situation:

As you are probably aware, the school office has been incredibly busy. Please can I ask you to be patient when waiting for a response to a query.  We are working as fast as we can, but as I’m sure you will understand, we are having to prioritise all of our work.

Kind regards

Miss Bailey
