Sir Teachalot visit - Year 5 and 6

Year 5 and 6 had a wonderful day on Tuesday 20th February when Sir Teachalot came in to visit and tell us all about life in England during WW2. We all dressed up as different characters from the 1940s: There were a lot of evacuees and land girls and a few soldiers and even a couple of our very own Spitfires!

The children learnt what it was like for evacuees during the war, as well as what it was like to live through the Blitz. They were all completely transfixed, listening to all the wonderful facts and having a chance to look at historical artefacts from the time, some even used weapons that were used during the war. The children particularly enjoyed learning a song from the period and doing parade drills.

Everyone had a great time, and we are sure they'll all remember what they learnt for a long time!
